Respite Care

Respite Care

Respite Care provides short-term, temporary supervision and support for an individual when the primary caregiver is unavailable or requires relief from caregiving responsibilities. These services ensure continuity of care for individuals with disabilities, chronic health conditions, or functional limitations while offering the primary caregiver planned or emergency relief.

Respite Care is delivered in accordance with the Individual Plan of Service (IPOS) and is tailored to maintain consistency in the individual’s daily routines, safety, and personal care needs.

Purpose of Service:

Respite Care is medically necessary to preserve the stability of the caregiving environment and prevent caregiver burnout. The service ensures the individual’s ongoing health, safety, and well-being during periods when the primary caregiver is absent.

Respite Care supports long-term sustainability of informal support systems while reducing the risk of care disruption, crisis situations, or unnecessary institutional placement.
